Life at times can be overwhelming and look so big to me, and probably for you at times also. I would assume you have been there.

I found myself in a tough situation recently with a close loved one. At a new place and full of questions, we were surrounded by “what ifs”, wondering if we were on the right path. Barely able to keep our heads above water, we were running out of strength. We were out of the boat, but no longer walking on the water in faith but sinking in thoughts of doubt and fear.

I reached out to a friend by text for prayer. Thankfully she responded quickly and God showed up and got our attention. A man came up the escalator next to us and he must have been listening to his morning devotion. For some reason, he was not using EarPods, and everyone close by could hear. Just at the right time we heard these words: “Whatever problem you are facing, God is bigger than any of your problems. He is still on the throne and is a miracle-working God!”

Well, I was just in awe! But why should I be surprised? We serve a sovereign God who goes before us! I quickly texted my friend and shared with her this holy moment.I asked my loved one on the way home if she too heard the message. She said, “Yes I did.”

I said, “See, God has got His hand on you!”

I don’t know what problem or problems you are facing right now, but we serve a God that does know. He is bigger than the problems and is a miracle-working God. Let’s trust him to be our rescue, refuge and shelter in our storms.

I am yours, God, and you are my Savior; you’ve rescued me from death and given me life that is blessed. I need not fear but only trust in you. You’ve given me life eternal and you are worthy of my praise now and forever!
